Stage Maps

Stage Directions
Stage directions can be complicated sometimes because everything is swip-swapped!!!

When an actor/actress is on stage, you put up your two hands and which makes an "L" is your left. The other hand that doesn't make a "L" is your right. When you are backstage, remember, if you can see the audience, the audience can see you! You should always stand behind the curtain (right against the curtain but be careful not to move the curtain!😜), that
way you can't see the audience and they can't see you!πŸ‘Œ!!

My Findings: I surveyed 23 9-10 year olds on what their favorite musicals were out of these 10 choices. 6 kids voted for Oliver! 5 kids voted for Grease. 5 kids also voted for The Sound of Music.
4 kids voted for The Wizard of Oz. 2 kids voted for The Phantom of the Opera. 1 kid voted for West Side Story, and no kids voted for Singin' in the Rain An American in Paris, My Fair Lady and Les Miserables.
Oliver! got the most votes!!!πŸ† In 2nd place is The Sound of Music  and Grease. In 3rd place is The Wizard of Oz.
I think most kids are intrested in musicals which they have heard or sang songs from. Also most kids probably would like to see Oliver! because it is based on a kid's life and it is a similar to Annie and a lot of kids like Annie.

Lead In Show!

http://webfindr.net/p/2016/11/white-christmas-musical-wvxeeea4.jpg
Experiences
I definitely have learned many things from White Christmas! All different kinds of things too! Acting, singing and dancing tips! I have also made some new friends around my age and some high school friends too! It definitely will be hard to leave this all behind! But I will still see some of my friends at theater camp next year! Yay! Believe it or not the day this was published on, is the day of my first show and I'm SO  excited for it! Once, I needed to get my costume on and quickly go on stage and my mom was helping me and of course my mic cord was hanging out of my skirt and she thought it was a rubber band stuck to my bottom so she tugged at it and it ripped off my mic tape and it hurt SO BAD!!! And of course I was late on my entrance so I had to reapply my mic tape and I had to come out on the wrong side because I didn't have time to come out from the other side.
Comment down below what is one of your embarrassing moments with theater! Come back for more updates!!!πŸ˜„

Act Away!!!

      Act Away!!!🎭

Tips

Many people have come in during theater camp and White Christmas and helped with recommendations and suggestions. Here are some important tips that really stuck with me.

1. You have to react to what people say or do and make an expression or react to it a your character might in real life.

2. Don't act like you know what's going to happen next! This is your character's life and this is their reality! If something surprising happens that would be surprising in real life you need to act surprised!

3. Your character has to have a story line and a place they came from and a reason to be there and be doing everything they do.

4. Always be ready for auditions!!!πŸ˜‚ Practice whenever you have extra time, and you can always ask a parent, sibling or a friend to help you practice!!! DON'T STRESS!!!

Name In Lights

Welcome!

Hello audience!
Welcome to Lights,Camera,ACTION!!!
My name is "Susan" and I am a big fan of Singing, Dancing and Acting! This is a snapshot of me...
________________________________________

I have a lot of experience with theater! In 2nd grade I did my first play. I starred as Lucy in You're a Good Man Charlie Brown. Then in 3rd grade I starred as The Good Witch of the North in Conflict In Oz and I took chorus. In 4th grade I took a year off of chorus and started playing the clarinet in band. I also auditioned for Susan Waverly in a high school play White Christmas and got the part! I am in my school's after-school theater club and went to theater camp for 2 years and planning to continue to do it. I have done dance for 3 years now. I take tap, lyrical, and musical theater and plan to take ballet. Tap is my favorite! My blog will include theater programs that I highly recommend. I will have local plays or musicals you can go to as well as some mic tips and the history of acting. I will include  dancing, singing, and acting tips that I learned to help you become a better actor/actress, singer, and dancer! I hope you enjoy this blog!
